Games Workshop properties have reached a new benchmark of cultural prominence in their home country of the United Kingdom, where the Royal Mail service has issued a series of postage stamps honoring the company’s key brands in honor of Warhammer's 40th anniversary.
Ten stamps have been issued. Six feature miniatures from Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Age of Sigmar, and Warhammer The Old World. Characters featured include Space Marines, Orks, Stormcast Eternals, High Elves, Slaves to Darkness, and Dwarfs. The other four stamps feature classic artwork from Warhammer history, with art from Horus Heresy, Warhammer 40,000 (with the head-swinging Crimson Fist from the cover of the Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader book), Warhammer Age of Sigmar, and Warhammer The Old World.
In the U.S., the Postal Service has taken a less geek-friendly approach with its game stamps, issuing stamps commemorating Monopoly in 1998.
