In this game, players become city builders in 19th-century Barcelona. They are looking to expand the city into the modern era by constructing buildings to accommodate the people who wish to leave the old city. They will also build streets, tram lines, and public services as well as upgrade architecture and aesthetics of the city.
This game is played over multiple rounds, which are broken up by scoring phases. Each round consists of a players performing two or more actions, constructing buildings, and prepping for the next round. The players that scores the most victory points after the final scoring phase wins the game.
Barcelona is for one to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 60 to 90 minutes.
