Erik's Curiosa will release Sorcery: Contested Realm, a new TCG, into retail in October 2023.
Sorcery: Contested Realm is a brand-new fantasy TCG, which was originally launched by New Zealand designer Erik Olofsson on Kickstarter where it raised approximately $3,619,696 (converted from NZD) from 6,456 backers (about $561 per backer). In the game, players tap into the four elements (Earth, Fire, Water, and Air) to summon Avatars to do battle for them. These Avatars can summon minions, ancient relics, and cast powerful spells help destroy their opponent.
Cards in the first set feature hand-painted by former Magic: The Gathering artists Melissa A. Benson (Shivan Dragon), Jeff Menges (Bazaar of Baghdad), Anson Maddocks (Maze of Ith) and Academy of Adventure Gaming Arts & Design Hall of Famer Jeff Easley (see "Hall of Fame Class of 2023"). The first set contains 403 cards, each of which have their own holo foil version. Booster packs come with 15 cards: 10 Ordinary cards, 3 Exceptional cards, and 1 Elite or Unique card. Booster displays come with 36 packs and retail for $150.
The company also announced a new retailer program for Sorcery. They have launched a Social Play Store Kit for FLGS worldwide. The kit includes 2 Donnybrook playmats, 2 Mortality playmats, 5 art posters, 21 Bone Rabble alt-art cards, and one The Champion promo foil.
