The new publisher DSTLRY has announced its first regular series, Gone, by Jock, the artist for the Eisner Award-winning Snow Angels and the writer and artist for Batman: One Dark Night. Gone, which will spin out of DSTLRY’s launch anthology The Devil’s Cut, will be Jock’s first creator-owned work as both writer and artist. The sci-fi fantasy story follows a 13-year-old girl Abi, who stows away on a luxury spacecraft in order to escape her miserable life on a wretched outer planet, but ends up having to struggle for her life when she is discovered. The series will follow directly from the story “The Stowaway” in The Devil’s Cut (see “DSTLRY Announces 8 Series Will Launch from ‘The Devil’s Cut’”). The first issue will have two open-to-order covers by Jock as well as several incentive variants to be announced later.
To promote Gone, Jock will take over the cover of the October Previews catalog, with a redesigned Previews logo set against one of the first issue’s main covers.
Gone #1 will go on sale in October with print comics available from Diamond Comic Distributors and Lunar and digital editions available directly from DSTLRY for one week, after which they can be resold on the DSTLRY marketplace (see “Former comiXology Execs to Mix Digital and Print”).
