Dark Horse Comics has announced a new Ghostbusters miniseries, Ghostbusters: Back in Town, that will bridge the gap between the 2021 film Ghostbusters: Afterlife and the upcoming Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, which will be released in 2024 (see “‘Ghostbusters’”). The creative team for the four-issue miniseries includes writer David Booher, artist Blue Delliquanti, and colorists Mildred Lewis and Cris Peter. The story is set a year and a half after the events of Ghostbusters: Afterlife and follows Callie, Gary, Trevor, and Phoebe as they travel to New York City to move in to the original Firehouse and take up the family business. The first issue will be released on March 27, 2024, with a cover by Kyle Lambert and a variant cover by Steve Morris.
The new series is the first Ghostbusters series from Dark Horse, indicating that they have acquired the license, which was previously held by IDW Publishing (see “‘Ghostbusters’ Comic from IDW in September”).
