Fantagraphics Books has announced a new deal with Lunar Distribution; going forward, Fantagraphics’ comics, graphic novels, and other items will be distributed to comics retail via both Lunar and Diamond Comic Distributors. Diamond was previously Fantagraphics’ sole distributor to the Direct Market.
"We believe that retailers should have multiple distribution options when making their purchasing decisions and by joining forces with Lunar, while continuing our longstanding relationship with Diamond Comic Distributors, we can best contribute to a healthy and robust Direct Market that has proven essential to evolution and vitality of the comics medium," said Fantagraphics VP and Associate Publisher Eric Reynolds in a statement accompanying the announcement.
Fantagraphics recently announced a new edition of Joe Sacco’s Palestine (see “Joe Sacco’s ‘Palestine’”).
