Dynamite Entertainment has announced that orders for ThunderCats #1, by writer Declan Shalvey and artist Drew Moss, have topped 100,000 ahead of this weekend’s Final Order Cutoff (FOC).
Publishers seldom release order numbers, so this is an important data point. For comparison, the first issue of W0rldTr33, by James Tynion IV and Fernando, had orders of over 150,000, and went through five printings (see “Two Publishers Announce New Printings After Titles Sell Out at Distributor Level”). Tynion IV and Martin Simmonds’ The Department of Truth #1 had orders of over 100,000.
In October, Dynamite announced a deal to produce comics based on a number of Warner Bros. properties (see “Dynamite to Publish WB Discovery Comics”).
