The expansion adds four new mercenaries to the mix. Each of these characters comes with additional party-building options and abilities, and utilize new tactics. The new characters include a Wizard, a Sorcerer, and a Barbarian, as well as the game's first Artificer character. The game box comes with 4 pre-painted miniatures, 4 Combat Dial cards, 8 Level Up cards, gameplay tokens, and a rulesheet.
This expansion requires the core game to play and will retail for $39.99.
WizKids will also release D&D Icons of the Realms: 50th Anniversary, a new miniatures booster set (see "'D&D Icons of the Realms: 50th Anniversary'").
