Ares Games announced three new games that will be coming to market in the second half of 2024.
Altay: Dawn of Civilization is a deck-building game designed by Ole Steiness and Paolo Mori. The game takes places in a secluded region where the ancient civilizations that exist there have been building a culture where magic and technology meet. A new influx of settlers have arrived and now players, who take on the roles of Altay's leaders, must decide whether or not to embrace the newcomers. This game features a fusion of deck-building, civilization development, and area control mechanics, and has multiple paths to victory.
Viking Route is cooperative game, designed by Martino Chiacchiera, Luca Maragno, and Guido Albini, where players navigate a magical Drakkar to go off exploring. They must maintain their course on the open seas by utilizing a compass-and-magnets movement mechanic as well as maintaining their resources. The goal of the game is to complete quests and best their opponents.
Builders of Sylvan Date is a 3D tile placement game by Peter Ridgeway. The players take on the roles of architects summoned by Elders to build up their woodland realm. They will play cards and place building tiles onto ever-growing trees in order get their buildings to higher treetops for more points. The goal of the game is to become the best architect in the forest realm and rebuild the region to its former glory.
