Top Shelf has announced a new Alan Moore title that will be published in October 2024. The Moon and Serpent Bumper Book of Magic has been 20 years in the making and was first announced in 2010 (see “Top Shelf Plans Alan Moore Titles”). The book, a celebration of magic and the occult rendered in prose, art, and comics, is co-written by Moore and his longtime collaborator Steve Moore (no relation), who died in 2014. Artists for the project include the late Kevin O’Neill, the artist for Moore’s League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (see “RIP Kevin O’Neill”), as well as John Coulthart, Steve Parkhouse, Rick Veitch, and Ben Wickey. The 352-page, 9” x 12” hardcover will be published by Top Shelf in the U.S. and Knockabout in the UK and will be released on October 15, 2024, with an MSRP of $49.99.
