Writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Kris Anka are returning to the world they created in the 2019 two-issue miniseries The White Trees with a new three-issue miniseries, The Whisper Queen.  Both series are set in the fantasy world of Blacksand, and The Whisper Queen follows the king's former assassin, Javro, as she hunts down his murderers while evading a dangerous enemy.  The first issue of The Whisper Queen will be published on May 1, 2024, with a main cover by Anka and variants by Fiona Staples and Rosemary Valero-O’Connell.

The new two-in-one reprint of The White Trees will be available on May 8.

Zdarsky’s three-issue “The Joker Year One” story wraps up in Batman #144, due out on February 20 (see “‘The Joker Year One’ Story Heads to Retail”).
