Days of Wonder has announced the Heavy Rain expansion for its Grand Prix racing game Heat, featuring the Japan and Mexico tracks.  The expansion will release on April 26.

Heat:  Heavy Rain offers two new tracks for racers to negotiate, each featuring unique challenges intended for experienced racers.  The Japan Grand Prix track has rain-soaked conditions following a storm, while the Mexico track includes multiple serpentine chicanes.  The expansion also allows players to put themselves in the 1964 Championship season by adding new racing conditions and rivalries, as well as new Air Intake upgrade cards to help players face the new challenges.  Rounding out the expansion is a complete set of components to add a seventh player to the game.

The expansion includes a double-sided game board, 60 cards, a player mat, a race car with matching gear pawn, and a scorepad.  As an expansion, a copy of the base game is needed to play.  Supports games with 1 to 7 players, intended for ages 10 and up.  Games with this expansion take about an hour to play.  MSRP is $34.99.
