Gail Simone will write a three-issue Superman arc with art by Eddy Barrows, Danny Miki, Rex Lokus, and Dave Sharpe for Action Comics, with backup stories by Rainbow Rowell and Cian Tormey, the company announced.  The three-issue Simone arc will run in July through September, in Action Comics #1067-#1069.

“Superman and the Challenge from the Stars” begins early in Superman’s public career, when a powerful alien race comes to Earth and Superman must stand alone against challenges all around the world.

The three backup features, written by Rainbow Rowell (Runaways, She-Hulk), with art by Cian Tormey, will tell a newsroom story of Lois Lane and Clark.

Action Comics #1067 will feature an A cover by Eddy Barrows, Danny Miki, and Tomeu Morey, with variants by Wes Craig, Pablo Villalobos, and Ben Oliver (1:25).
