Cryptozoic Entertainment will release Everyone Else Thinks This Games Is Awesome, a new trivia game by Zach & Kelly Weinersmith, in June. Zach and Kelly Weinersmith are bestselling authors and cartoonists, who created Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal and Soonish.
The release is via Cryptozoic Collective, which distributes games and collectibles for "trusted partners." In this case, the trusted partner is Pan-Universal Galactic Worldwide, which was formed by Cryptozoic co-founder John Nee and three IDW Publishing veterans (see "Pan-Universal Galactic Worldwide"). The game was originally funded in a Kickstarter project created by related company Erasmus Fox in 2021, which raised $241,835 from 4,315 backers.
Everyone Else Thinks This Game Is Awesome consists of a base game and a series of expansions. The theme is "the peer reviewed trivia game." In the base game, players answer trivia questions simultaneously, and then assign grad students to different locations based on who the players think gave the correct answer. Advancement on the path to becoming Emeritus Professor and winning the game is by accumulating citation points based on how well you predicted answers, including your own. The base game includes over 1,000 trivia questions.
The game is for 2-8 players ages 14 and up, and plays in 45 minutes. The base game box includes 1 Ivory Tower board, 216 Question Cards, 32 Grad Students, 8 Professor Contracts, 1 Lab Map, 8 Citation Trackers, 8 Answer Boards, 8 dry erase markers, and rulebook. MSRP is $39.99.
There are four expansions. Sex, Drugs, & Citations includes 108 Standard Cards, with topics too hot for the base deck, in a boxed expansion at $24.99 MSRP. Three foil pack expansions each include 20 cards with over 100 questions at $9.99 MSRP: Death Pact Expansion has questions about death; Pale Blue Deck Expansion has questions about space; and The Pseudoscience Expansion includes questions about the Questionable.
