Addiction Comics will release a new comic series written by Metropolis Comics’ Vincent Zurzolo and David Quinn, with art by Claudia Balboni with Brad Simpson, and an A cover by Artgerm, in July.
Zurzolo, who’s the President of prestige vintage comics dealer Metropolis Comics and auction site ComicConnect, recounted the initial test of the property at New York Comic Con last year. "After the huge response at New York Comic Con, where a forty-foot line of fans gathered to buy our limited edition NYC Premiere, we finished our first three issue story," he said. "Starting this July, we will make it available wherever comics are sold." Distribution is via Diamond Comic Distributors.
The Addiction is the story of a doctor successfully helping recovering addicts who’s given a cocktail of drugs by a gangster trying to stop her; she dies and is reborn with chemical powers, and takes on the cartel trying to steal her blood, the source of her power.
In addition to the A cover by Artgerm, there will be a B open-to-order variant by David Mack, a C open-to-order variant by Alitha Martinez, a D open-to-order variant by Andres Labrada, and incentive covers by David Mack (E, 1/5) and Artgerm (F, 1/10).
MSRP is $4.99. Street date is July 31.
