In Daitoshi, players will be tasked with building up a city using the power of steam. They will produce goods in their factory to get resources or move their magnate around the city to hire workers, expand the city, electrify districts, trade with other cities, or build new inventions. However, as they build their steampunk industrial complex, they will also strip away the land and anger wilderness spirits who may hassle them. Players might be wise to invest in some reforestation efforts to cover up their destruction of the landscape.
The game features illustrations by Marina Vidal, who has previously done Terry Pratchett novel covers. It is for one to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 120 minutes.
Devir Games will also release Cities, a new city-building game by Steve Finn and Phil Walker-Harding (see "'Cities'").
