Foundations of Metropolis is a follow-up game to Emerson Matsuuchi's Foundations of Rome (see "'Foundations of Rome'"). It re-implements the mechanics of the previous game in a modern setting as players compete over three rounds to become the greatest architect in the city. They will purchase deeds to empty lots, construct buildings upon them, and as the game goes on, they will build more complex buildings that require more lots. Players will accumulate prestige for their efforts, and the player with the most prestige at the end of the game will be appointed Grand Architect.
This game is for two to four players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 60 minutes. It will retail for $49.99.
