We round up two management moves between comics/graphic novel publishers as we enter July.

Lance Krieter is returning to Dark Horse Comics as Senior Director of Licensing, after 14 years at BOOM! Studios as Vice President of Licensing & Merchandising, the company announced.  Kreiter held a number of positions at Dark Horse in his first stint there, ending as Director of Global Licensing before moving to BOOM! in 2010 (see "Kreiter Joins BOOM!").

"As we expand our endeavors with both new and longstanding licensed properties, it is essential that we retain strong, experienced talent in all facets of our team," Dark Horse President and Founder Mike Richardson said of the hire.  "We are so pleased that Lance has chosen to bring his skills and understanding of the comics industry back to Dark Horse."

And on the other coast, Nicole Valdez has moved to Abrams ComicArts as Marketing Director, she announced on social media.  Valdez has been at Simon & Schuster since 2021 as Senior Manager of Publicity, and spent time at Penguin Random House and DC Comics in marketing and publicity roles.

"Comics is such a beautiful and incredible medium—one that welcomed me with open arms so many years ago," she wrote on LinkedIn.  "I’ve loved working on all sides (DC, launching a kids imprint with PRH) and I’ve missed being that cheerleader for the industry.  Well I’m back baby!"
