WotC will bring the first 3,000 copies of the 2024 Player's Handbook to Gen Con 2024 for collectors and fans to purchase. The Gen Con edition of this book will have a 50th anniversary logo in gold foil on it as well as a commemorative "Gen Con 2024" bookplate. The book will cost $49.99 at the show (plus tax).
In order to avoid a second "Linecana" incident at the show (see "Disney Lines"), WotC and Gen Con will systematically allow players to reserve their books via the Gen Con event ticketing system. Each sales day, at 7 am, fans will be able to claim one digital ticket, while supplies last, which allows them to purchase the book on that day during the sales times. They must be in line during the sales hours in order to purchase their book. The sales hours are as follows: August 1: 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. EDT; August 2-4, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM EDT.
