Dark Horse will publish a new edition of The Tooth, a tongue-in-cheek homage to the pulp comics of yore featuring a tooth that battles spirits, sorcerers, and other supernatural foes. The graphic novel is the work of writers Cullen Bunn and Shawn Lee and writer/artist Matt Kindt and was originally published by Oni in 2011 as a hardcover. The Dark Horse edition will be a 184-page paperback, to be released to bookstores on February 4, 2025, and to comic shops on February 5, with an MSRP of $24.99.

The Tooth is one of my favorite and most strange stories,” Bunn said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “Shawn, Matt, and I really told a wild horror/adventure story with this one! Thinking back on the creation of the story, meeting with Matt and Shawn many times to discuss and develop this tale of terror and muscle-bound tooth monsters, I can say with no hyperbole that it was some of the most fun I ever had working on a comic. It's a trip into the manic monster mayhem comics that helped to make me who I am as a writer.”

“This is the first and only time I’ve ever drawn dragons,” added Kindt. “A blood-sucking succubus, and necromantic she-beasts. I was absolutely scarred by the experience and I hope you are too!”
