The Pokemon Company International announced Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks, a new expansion set for Pokemon TCG, which will hit retailers on November 8, 2024.
Scarlet & Violet - Surging Sparks adds new Stellar Tera Pokemon ex to the mix, including a Pikachu ex with a powerful Topaz Bolt attack. The cards in this expansion are themed around the Terarium, which is an artificial paradise introduced in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk DLC for the video games. Other Stellar Tera Pokemon ex in this set include a Dragon-type Pokemon Alolan Exeggutor as well as Latias ex and Archaludon ex.
The set also has 8 ACE SPEC cards, 23 illustration rare Pokemon, 11 special illustration rare Pokemon and Supporter cards, and 6 hyper rare gold-etched cards. It will be available in the usual array of SKUs: booster packs, Elite Trainer Boxes, and special collections. Prerelease tournaments for this set will kick off on October 26, 2024.
Alongside this set, the company will also release a Pokemon TCG: Grand Adventure Collection. This set, inspired by Pokemon Horizons: The Series, features Trainers Liko and Roy and their partner Pokemon Sprigatito and Fuecoc. It comes with four Scarlet & Violet Series booster packs, two promo cards, and an oversize card.
