The horror host Svengoolie will mark the 45th anniversary of the character with a one-shot comic, Svengoolie 45th Anniversary Boo Nanza, with stories by Rich Koz (who portrays Svengoolie on the MeTV show), Jim Roche, and Chris Faulkner, with art by Scott Shaw, Joe Staton, Liam Martin, Sergio Aragones and Bill Morrison. The comic will be published by Gemstone and includes several stories and appearances by the newer Svengoolie characters Nostalgiaferatoo, Gwengoolie, and the Imp. It will go on sale on October 2, 2024, with a main cover by Morrison and a variant by Shaw, and will have an MSRP of $7.99.

Svengoolie started out as a horror host on Chicago-area television stations in 1970; the character was first played by Jerry G. Bishop and Koz replaced him when the show was rebooted in 1979. It is now carried by MeTV.

The character made his comics debut with two-page stories, written by then-DC Publisher Dan DiDio, that appeared in several DC comics around Halloween in 2019 (see "Confessions of a Comic Book Guy"). That was followed in 2023 by the two-issue series Svengoolie: Lost in Time, which was published by Frank Miller Presents, where DiDio is Publisher. DiDio also is also involved in the 45th anniversary comic.
