Oni Press will launch its fourth Nacelleverse miniseries, Power Lords, based on the 1980s action figures, the fourth in its series of comics based on properties acquired by the Nacelle company (see “Oni to Publish Comics Line Tying into Animation, Toy Properties”). As with the previous three, Biker Mice from Mars, Sectaurs, and RoboForce, Power Lords will be a three-issue miniseries; the writers are Dennis Culver and Matt Hotson and the artist is V Ken Marion. The story follows a space smuggler who gets more than he bargained for when he gets hold of the Power Jewel and finds himself dragged into an intergalactic war between good and evil. The first issue will be released on January 29, 2025, with covers by Dustin Weaver, Salvador Larroca, and Grey Williamson, among others.
The original Power Lords were unusual in that the action figures were created before they were featured in a comic, but DC did publish a three-issue Power Lords miniseries in 1983, the year the toys were first released.
