The new miniatures game features mobile suits from different Gundam series in skirmish battles using 2" Gunpla models (the word Gunpla is derived from "Gundam plastic models" and is Bandai's official brand of plastic models). The units in the game will each have unique traits and abilities to be used in the various battle scenarios presented in the game. These scenarios will follow the original stories presented in the series and then go beyond the original content.

The Gunpla for the game will come unpainted and require assembly. More details on this game will be released at a later date.

Bandai also recently unveiled Gundam TCG: Edition Beta, a new TCG boxed set (see "'Gundam TCG: Edition Beta'").
