Donations to the Book Industry Charitable Foundation for California wildfire relief will be matched up to $10,000 via a donation from Bookshop.org, the online merchant where sales support independent bookstores.  The fires have closed dozens of stores, forced evacuations, and destroyed the homes of at least three booksellers to date, the foundation revealed in announcing the match.

"The devastation is widespread and ongoing, and we know the darkest days are yet to come," the organization said.  "Tell book and comic people what they do is important and that it matters."
