Our thoughts are with those affected by the Los Angeles fires, as we round up the limited showbiz news.

Max has released the trailer for the second season of its videogame adaptation The Last of Us.  As is typical for prestige series in the era of pandemics and Hollywood strikes, the second season will premiere over two years since the first season ran, in April.

Rory McCann, who played The Hound in Game of Thrones, has been cast as Baylon Skoll for the second season of the Disney+ series Ahsoka, according to The Hollywood Reporter.  McCann replaces Ray Stevenson, who played the role in the first season (see "Ray Stevenson in ‘Star Wars: Ahsoka’").  Stevenson passed away after a brief illness in 2023.  Ahsoka Season 2 was greenlit early this year (see "’Ahsoka’ S2").

Netflix will air a new series based on Sanrio characters in July.  My Melody & Kuromi will feature the two characters in stop-motion animation directed by Tomoki Misato, written by Shuko Nemoto.  My Melody, 50 years old this year, is a cheerful girl who cares for her younger brother, and Kuromi, 20 years old this year, was introduced as My Melody's rival.  They both live in Mariland.
