Hachette Boardgames USA announced three new games with a price point under $30 that will release in Q1 2025.
Mega Jackpot is a card game by TIKI Editions designed to mimic the excitement of slot machine play. This is a push-your-luck party game where players gamble their winnings by flipping cards in an effort to match up three symbols on cards. The goal of the game is to push the limits and go for Mega Jackpots to win. It is for two to four players, ages 8 and up; plays in 15 minutes and will retail for $14.99. This game hits stores in February 2025.
In Architects of Amytis, by La Boite de Jeu, players will build up the ancient city of Amytis for the King of Babylon. They will accomplish this task by drafting and placing titles on city boards to expand upward and outward. This game features a blend of tile and worker placement mechanics that allow players to score points in an attempt to gain the King's Favor. The player who scores the most points wins royal honor and the game. This game is for two players, ages 10 and up; plays in 25 minutes and will retail for $24.99. It will also come out in February 2025.
Pina Coladice is a new party game by IELLO. In this game, players roll dice three times to attempt to grab different combinations of coasters. They will then place drink tokens on the coasters to score points. If a player manages to line up four drink tokens on the coaster grid to create a "pina coladice," they win instantly. This game is for two to four players, ages 8 and up; plays in 10 minutes and will hit stores on March 12, 2025. It will retail for $19.99.
Hachette will also be distributing Edition Spielweise's family-friendly mystery game MicroMacro Kids: Crazy City Park (see "'MicroMacro Kids'").
