Archie Comics is adding Lunar to its mix of distributors and will continue working with Diamond as well as Penguin Random House, which is their distributor to the book market. “We're talking to everybody at this point,” said Mike Pellerito, President and Editor in Chief of Archie Comics. “Diamond's amazing, and has been amazing, especially through this process, but with the uncertainty of everything, we wanted to make sure our books can be found by every retailer, everywhere.”

Archie will start distribution through Lunar with May releases, but Pellerito said that their Free Comic Book Day comics will come from Diamond, as previously announced.

Archie also distributes its digests on newsstands, and the company signed on with a new distributor, a360media, six or seven months ago, Pellerito said. “It’s probably the most exciting and robust it’s been in years,” Pellerito said. “Each pocket [of the market] has its own geographical limitations, but going with a place like a360, a lot of that breaks down, so they are able to find places where we can test and do better and find more of an audience.” In addition, because comic shops carry the digests too, Pellirto said, “We’re kind of advertising comic stores by just being on the newsstand.”
