Oni Press is launching the first-ever Biker Mice from Mars ongoing series, following the three-issue miniseries based on the Nacelle Company property published in 2024 (see "Oni Launches First Nacelleverse Series"). Melissa Flores, the writer of the miniseries, will return for the new series, working with artist Daniel Gete. The first issue will be 40 pages and will include a bonus RoboForce feature by writer Matt Hotson and artist EJ Su that will tie into the upcoming Roboforce animated series (see "ICv2 Interview: Nacelle CEO Brian Volk-Weiss”). Release date will be June 25, 2025, and the first issue will have covers by Dustin Weaver, Karl Kerschl, and Justin Mason, a foil cover by Kerschl, a 1:10 interlocking cover by Juan Jose Ryp, a 1:20 variant by Kano, a 1:50 variant by Simon Bisley and a 1:100 full art variant by Bisley.
Biker Mice from Mars started as an animated series that ran for three seasons, from 1993 to 1996, featuring three superpowered mice on motorcycles who escape their home planet and travel to earth to battle their enemies, the Plutarkians. The Nacelle Company acquired the rights to Biker Mice from Mars, RoboForce, and other toy and animation properties and is creating a connected universe of animation and comics (see "Oni to Publish Comics Line Tying into Animation, Toy Properties").
"We’re playing it a hundred percent straight, no winking at the audience–definitely not your typical ‘funny animal comic,’" said editor Karl Bollers in a statement accompanying the announcement. "And while there are enough ‘cowabunga’ and ‘boo ya’ style catch phrases to fill the fuel tanks of fans new and old, overall we’re taking a hard-hitting approach to the stories this time that definitely won’t pull any punches and will hopefully appeal to readers of all ages. Two-wheel drive–four quadrant appeal. That’s the Biker Mice formula."
