HarperCollins has announced a 10th anniversary edition of ND Stevenson’s YA graphic novel Nimona. The deluxe paperback will have a new cover, French flaps, sprayed edges, gold foil, and 16 pages of exclusive content, including behind-the-scenes sketches and a new foreword by Stevenson. The new edition will be released on May 20, 2025, with an MSRP of $22.99.

Since the original release of the book, Stevenson has come out as transmasculine and bigender and now uses the name ND Stevenson and he/him pronouns. In addition to Nimona, he was one of the original contributors to the BOOM! Studios series Lumberjanes and has a new graphic novel, Scarlet Morning, due out from Quill Tree Books on September 23, 2025.

Stevenson began Nimona, the tale of a shapeshifter and a supervillain on a mission to bring down their local heroes, while still in college and published it as a webcomic from 2012 to 2014; in 2012 it won the Cartoonist Studio Prize for Best Web Comic. HarperCollins published it under its Quill Tree Books imprint in 2015, and it won the 2016 Eisner Award for Best Graphic Album—Reprint. It was also nominated for a National Book Award (see “‘Nimona’”) and was the most frequently named title on the best-of-the-year lists surveyed by ICv2 (see “ICv2’s Meta ‘Best Graphic Novels of 2015’”). A feature film based on the book premiered in 2023 and is available on Netflix (see “‘Nimona’”).
