UK RPG publisher Rowan, Rook, and Decard will not be traveling to the U.S. for Gen Con this year due to safety concerns, the company announced.  "Crossing the border into the U.S. simply isn't safe for us at the moment, and it doesn’t appear to be getting safer," the company said in a statement.

"We aren't the first to make this decision; we suspect we won’t be the last, either; the political climate is only getting worse," they continued.  "While the odds of most of us encountering resistance at border control are low, we don’t want to risk running the biggest convention of the year without the members of staff we need because they've been detained, deported, or otherwise penalized for their beliefs or who they are."

The Rowan, Rook, and Decard booth will be operated by U.S. representatives and will offer new products from the publisher; but without UK staff, there will be no events schedule, signings, panels, or B2B meetings.

Comic creators are also canceling U.S. convention travel: Ryan Estrada and Kim Hyun Sook canceled a months-long tour of U.S. appearances planned for the summer last month (see "Eisner-Nominated Creators Cancel Book Tour").
