Monte Cook Games will release two new products for Neon Rain, a cyberpunk setting for the Cypher System, this summer. Events are set in a futuristic city with holographic ads and fortified skyscrapers, where criminal gangs battle as megacorps control all power. Players can install cybernetic upgrades, use VR to hack into corporate systems, and dodge traps built by Ais.
The Neon Rain hardcover includes advice and tools for building the setting, including optional rules, creatures, cyphers, and artifacts; new foci, descriptors, and other options; creatures and NPS for any encounter; a ready-to-play setting; and two complete Adventures: "Seventeeth Floor" and "Needle in the Haystack."
Neon Rain is by Dominique Dickey, Bruce R. Cordell, and Sean K. Reynolds, with cover art by Roberto Pitturru. The 224-page hardcover will be released in July at $49.99. It requires the Cypher System Rulebook to play.
MCG will also release Cash and Chrome, a zine-format supplement for Neon Rain campaigns. Works4Mercs is a gig board that provides dozens of adventure seeds at $17.99, also coming in July.
