Cephalofair Games has notified backers of the Gloomhaven 2E crowdfunding project that it is now moving the product that had been stranded in China as a result of the 145% tariffs in force during April (see "$1.2 Million in Cephalofair Games Stranded"). Ocean transport has now been booked (at higher prices due to the rush of product currently headed for U.S. ports), and games are expected to arrive in the U.S. in late June. Once congested ports are navigated, backer fulfillment will begin, presumably with trade release to follow.
For crowdfunding backers, Cephalofair is adding a tariff surcharge equivalent to the tariff on the manufacturing cost; this will be much less than 30% of retail. Cephalofair will absorb the increased freight costs, port congestion costs, extended warehousing fees, and other costs associated with the tariff turmoil. Cephalofair has not specified what the impact will be on copies distributed to the trade, but they will presumably pass on tariff costs to that channel as well.
