Alley Cat Games will release a remastered 2nd Edition of Calimala, designed by Fabio Lopiana, with new art by Ian O'Toole, this summer. Set in Florence, cloth merchants of the Calimala Guild vie for power and control. Players can take control of the Medici or other historical merchant families, and benefit from unique player powers, and align themselves with major political powers, the Holy Roman Empire or Catholic Church. New expansion actions allow players to invest in banks to build power in cities, or commission artworks to boost standing with the church.
The box includes game board, 15 Scoring Tiles, 5 Player Boards, 10 Workshop Tiles, 15 Ships, 10 Scoring Cards, 45 Action Cards, 60 Family Member Discs, 5 Score Markers, 10 Employee Discs, 15 Trade Houses, 250 Player Cubes, 1 Active Player Marker, and Rulebook.
Calimala is for 2-5 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 45-90 minutes. MSRP is $49.99.
The original U.S. edition of Calimala was released by Stronghold Games in 2018 (see "Busy Autumn for Stronghold").
