The set features new Heroes, Villains and Faeries that are key to brand-new plot for the Neopets TCG, which is the first new plot for the game in over a decade. The new plot revolves around a mysterious, dark force that threatens to unravel Neotopia, and the Neopets will have to harness the power of friendship and unity to fight the darkness. This set adds Void Rares to the mix for collectors as well as new Paint Brushes and Petpets that can be redeemed as one of the items with Grundo Warehouse code cards on Neopets.com.

There are 232 unique cards to collect in the set. Packs comes with 8 cards: 3 commons, a common/rare/Codestone foil, a super rare or higher, 2 rares, and a Codestone.

Upper Deck Entertainment will also release Rush of Ikorr, a new TCG, into market (see "Rush of Ikorr").
