Marvel will launch a new ongoing Doctor Strange series, by writer Derek Landry and artist Ivan Fiorelli, that will center on the character’s new status quo as Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard. In the Mortal Thor miniseries, by Al Ewing and Pascal Ferry (see “Preview: ‘Mortal Thor’ #1-3 Covers by Alex Ross”), the Rainbow Bridge between Asgard and Midgard was destroyed. Unable to return to Earth, Doctor Strange and Angela explore the other realms, starting with a trip to Alfheim, where a crisis is beginning to erupt. The new series features a new costume for Doctor Strange, designed by Geoff Shaw, and two new characters designed by Fiorelli.

The one-shot Doctor Strange #450, to be published in September 2025, will include a prelude story by Landry and Fiorelli that will set the scene and debut Doctor Strange’s new look. The first issue of the new ongoing series will be released on December 3 with a main cover by fantasy illustrator Alex Horley, who will provide the main covers for the series, a variant by Fanyang, and a Marvel Comics Presents variant by Luciano Vecchio.

“You might think that Stephen Strange is on firmer ground now that he's become Sorcerer Supreme of Asgard, but he's about to be shoved face first into dangerous new territory, and his only guide is the baddest Angel of them all — Angela!” Landy said in a statement accompanying the announcement.
