The FUNimation Channel is now broadcasting live in Seattle and thesurrounding area.  Available via digital broadcast on KHCV TV-45 Seattle Digital Channel 44-3, the FUNimation Channel will provide 24-hour digital programming of some of the most prominent anime series in the United States to over one million households in the Seattle area.  The FUNimation Channel is also available via the CoLours TV Network, which is part of the Dish Satellite Network's basic package, as part of Verizon's FiOS extended basic package, and as part of the Optical Entertainment Network's FISION service.

In addition to its launch in the Seattle area the FUNimation Channel has also made other inroads into over-the-air broadcasting.  Iin the Los Angeles area it is available on digital channel LA 18-3, and to Hawaii residents on KIKU TV.  The shift to digital broadcasting is opening up many more opportunities for what might turn out to be a sort of 'network syndication' as local stations making the move to hi-def digital broadcasting often have several digital channels available. KHCV in Seattle for example also carries the 'Jewelry Television Network' on 44-1, and many local stations are currently using their additional broadcasting capability for 24/7 weather channels or music videos--low return options that definitely could open up lots of opportunities for the FUNimation Channel if it does well in Los Angeles and Seattle.
