Central Park Media has announced the launch of Below the Radar, a new label for 'offbeat, non-mainstream motion pictures and programs.' The programming will be sourced internationally, and will include both recent movies and older films 'overlooked because of their eccentricities.' Distribution for Below the Radar will be through WEA Corporation, which also distributes CPM's anime releases.
Below the Radar's first release will be A Perfect Fake, a documentary exploring the 'deeply disturbing' world of mannequin fetishists, including primarily Japanese collectors of life size dolls, and computer-generated virtual pornography. Street date is March 6th.
Also in the pipe are Backslash, a black comedy horror film by Kevin (Cheerleader Ninjas) Campbell slated for May; and Kissed by an Axe, by David Sterling, in June.
