SponsoredThree Arks, two worlds, one chance at survival.  Stable Vol. 1, an epic sci-fi space opera, written by Matthew Medney (bestseller Beyond Kuiper: The Galactic Star Alliance, Dark Wing, The Adventures of Adrienne James) and Morgan Rosenblum (Winds of Numa Sera), with art by Francesco Pisa, hits shelves this Tuesday, February 15th.  This marks the first graphic novel release in a slate of sci-fi graphic novels from legendary publisher Heavy Metal and acclaimed comics and media company, Herø Projects.

Stable takes place on an Earth with a dying Sun.  There are two kinds of people.  The Chosen.  And the Left Behind.  As the Sun begins to burn out, humankind faces extinction. But then, a miracle happens.  An alien civilization offers help by sending designs for Space Arks, spaceships programmed to bring 300,000 people to their home world to start anew.  With no apparent other choice to save humanity, Doctor Caleb Paulson takes charge of the mission, leading the Chosen 'best of humanity' on a mysterious journey to a far-off planet.  As for the billions of humans remaining? They must fight against all odds to survive, as Earth faces an apocalyptic ending.

"Stable is a thought experiment on the elite class and how hope can turn to fear and how fear can turn to hope.  We wanted to examine the parallels of choices while pondering the great unknown," said co-creator Matthew Medney. "Stable is a bold, fresh and unique take on the age-old question: what does a civilization do when they have run out of options?  Do they face it head on, or do they scheme to ensure the safety of those they deem worthy?"

Added co-creator Morgan Rosenblum: "it's all about the characters for me.  I've always enjoyed writing stories with ensemble casts.  The challenge of getting an audience or reader to care about multiple main characters is one I do not take lightly.  We introduce a host of unique characters in Stable, on what at first appear to be unrelated story paths, only to ultimately connect them all together in an organic, fun way.  All the while, the characters will be pulling on your heartstrings.

Artist Francesco Pisa commented: "The first volume of Stable is the beginning of a journey that examines human nature and the conservation of our species.  It lays the foundation for reasoning that could affect us all in the future.  For me, it was an opportunity to test myself on building worlds and characters from scratch while also taking care of the whole art process from pencil to color.  The imagery I created passes from more contemporary styles to ones that bring back the science fiction of the '80s."

Stable’s story was co-created by Medney and Rosenblum along with Herø Projects’ Voodoo Bownz and Jonny Handler, in collaboration with TomatoFarm Agency.  Herø Projects' "Ønyx" lineup of sci-fi graphic novels will be published through Heavy Metal and distributed by Simon and Schuster in 2022-2023.  Other titles featured in the lineup include dystopian thriller The Red, historical sci-fi Dogma Resistance, action adventure The Awakening, and decopunk crime noir Remnant.

Stable is being distributed through Simon and Schuster and will be available to purchase in book stores and online on Tuesday, February 15.  Fans can now pre-order their copy through their local book stores or online here: https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/Stable.
