Backers began requesting refunds after the recent allegations of abuse (which Gaiman denies). According to the update page, refunds were locked in November 2024 due to the production process, but the freeze has now been lifted and backers can request refunds until February 7.
In addition, the update page stated,
It has also been agreed that Neil Gaiman will not receive any proceeds from the graphic novel Kickstarter. Given the project management, production and all communication has always been under the jurisdiction of the [Terry Pratchett] Estate on behalf of Good Omens at large, this will not fundamentally change the project itself, however we can confirm the Kickstarter and PledgeManager will now fully be an entity run by, and financially connected to, the Terry Pratchett Estate only.
Season 3 of the Good Omens TV show was changed to a feature film after the first allegations about Gaiman appeared in 2024 (see “‘Good Omens’ S3 Resolved”). A new round of allegations about Gaiman appeared in New York Magazine in January 2025 (see “Gaiman Denies Allegations”). Dark Horse, the publisher of some Gaiman’s comics work, has dropped him as an author and canceled their adaptation of Anansi Boys (see “Dark Horse Ending Relationship with Neil Gaiman”).
