Starz announced that the Outlander adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s book series, executive-produced by Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica) will debut August 9.
The 16-episode season of the romance/sci-fi/history epic about a 1945 combat nurse who suddenly finds herself in mid-18th Century Scotland is currently shooting on location in Scotland. Information on cast and crew can be found here (see "Tuesday Geek TV Rundown" and "Cast, Director for 'Outlander'").
There was a graphic novel adaptation produced for the series in 2010 (see "Starz Begins Production on 'Outlander' Series").
