Variety reports that Dreamworks will be releasing the film based on CrossGen comic The Way of the Rat, produced by Frank Darabont's (The Green Mile) Darkwoods Productions and Castle Rock Production.  ICv2 previously reported that a Way of the Rat film was in the works (see 'CrossGen Announces Movie/TV Deals'), but this martial arts adventure  featuring a lithe hero, a wise-cracking monkey, and a blade-wielding princess appears to be relatively far along in production.  Director Chuck Russell remains attached to the project as director -- and the Way of the Rat is now at the top of the Darkwoods Productions' development slate.
