VIZ Media and comiXology announced a digital distribution agreement which brings VIZ’s extensive manga library to the digital comics platform.
VIZ, the largest distributor and licensor of manga and anime in North America, has already made more than 500 volumes of their fan-favorite series available, including Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, and Nana among others. The titles will appear in comiXology’s Manga Fixed Format, which is a dedicated right-to-left full-page traditional manga reading experience.
The full list of titles available immediately includes: Bakuman (all volumes), Bleach (all volumes and same day as print), Blue Exorcist, Claymore, Death Note, Dragon Ball Full Color (Saiyajin), Dragon Ball/ Dragon Ball Z, Hikaru No Go, Knights of the Zodiac, Nana, Naruto, One Piece, One-Punch Man, Rosario + Vampire, Rosario + Vampire Season II, Rurouni Kenshin, Rurouni Kenshin: Restoration, Shaman King, Tenjo Tenge, and The Prince of Tennis.
This is the first major announcement of a new distribution relationship for comiXology since Amazon announced its acquisition of the company in April (see "The Retailer Side of ComiXology Acquisition").
