AMC has given The Walking Dead spinoff series a vote of confidence with a two season order, the network announced Monday. The first season will consist of six episodes (a la The Walking Dead), and although it was not announced, if true to form the second would be around 13 episodes.
The first season will premiere in late summer (avoiding conflict with the main series, which debuts in October), and the second season will air in 2016.
The show was co-created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson, who will be showrunner. The cast is set, with Kim Dickens (see 'Female Lead Cast in 'Walking Dead' Spinoff"), Cliff Curtis (see "'Walking Dead' Spinoff Has Male Lead"), and Frank Dillane and Alycia Debnam Carey (see "'Walking Dead' Spinoff Gets First Cast Members").
