Hack and Slash Games has announced a deal with Chilean publisher KLU! to bring the mythology-themed Myths & Legends CCG to the United States.

The game has been the #1 trading card game in Chile for the past 16 years. Myths & Legends was created by Salo S.A. in 2000, and is one of the most popular CCGs in South America.  According to Hack & Slash, the game will feature beautiful card stock, high quality printing techniques and lavish art. Each card will also feature an embossed card back.  The game will launch at Gen Con and the first expansion, Camelot, is planned for fall release. The game will be printed in the U.S. with Cartamundi. Hack and Slash will manage organized play, marketing and sales for the U. S.

Attempts were made in the 2004 -5 to bring the game to the U.S. market (see “Genio to Announce Myths & Legends CCG” and “Comic Images Gets 'Myths & Legends CCG'”). However, the game did not catch on at a time when barrier entry into the marketplace was high and market conditions were unfavorable to new CCGs.

Hack and Slash recently announced the revival of Ophidian 2350 (see “'Ophidian 2350' Returns with New Stand-Alone Expansion”).
