At Gen Con, Passport Game Studios was showing off its upcoming Bruno Cathala game Pocket Madness as well as previewing the Tokaido app.

Pocket Madness is designed by Bruno Cathala and Ludovic Maublac. It is inspired by the writings of H.P. Lovecraft.  Players evoke the powers of the Ancient Ones to try to drive other players mad and assure their own victory. The game includes 63 cards and tokens to track madness.

The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 8 and up, and plays in 30 minutes. MSRP was not announced. Release is planned for early October.

Passport was also showing off Funforge’s upcoming IOS/Android app for the popular board game Tokaido. The app will launch at the end of October and is usable for both online and offline play. Currently it only includes information from the base game, and incorporates animation into the game. Gameplay moves quicker than the real-world board game, which takes 45 – 60 minutes to play. A game on the app can be played in 20 – 30 minutes.
