McFarlane Toys has announced the acquisition of the license to create action figures based on the Simpsons Movie.  The long-awaited Simpsons Movie (see 'Simpsons Movie Pre-Production News') is set for release in July and McFarlane plans to release its range of movie-based toys in tandem with the movie.

Since acquiring the license for Simpsons action figures in 2005, McFarlane Toys has demonstrated its prowess in recreating great moments from the Simpsons TV series (see 'McFarlane Toys' First Simpsons Release'), and fans are eagerly awaiting the company's highly detailed, precisely-sculpted action figures based on the movie.  McFarlane's Simpsons Movie Action Figures will include the major continuing characters from the TV series as well as a number of new characters who make their debut alongside the regulars in the Simpsons Movie.
