ICv2 readers attending New York Comic Con's trade day on Friday, February 23rd, may be particularly interested in two panels (moderated by ICv2 President Milton Griepp) on business issues at the cutting edge of pop culture.

'Web Comics Today: Models, Trends & Opportunities' will explore what may very well be the future of comics, in which Internet delivery of comics, legal and illegal, impact the sales of paper products in both positive and negative directions, and become a new medium to be reckoned with on their own.  This panel will explore the different models for delivering comics over the Web, from Webcomics, to PDFs for a fee, to ad-supported PDFs, to PDFs as promotional tool, and behind them all the backdrop of illegal filesharing of comics.  Both legacy publishers and cutting edge pioneers will discuss this critical issue for the near future.

The panelists discussing Webcomics are:

Josh Blaylock -- CEO -- Pullboxonline
Richard Bruning -- Senior Vice President, Creative Director -- DC Comics
Scott Rosenberg -- CEO -- Platinum Studios
Jeremy Ross -- Director of New Product Development -- Tokyopop
Heewoon Chung -- President -- Netcomics
Regis Maher II -- President/COO -- Extreme Holdings, Inc.

The Webcomics panel will be at 11:30 a.m.

'Graphic Novels: Direct Distribution or Book Wholesalers?' will explore the two primary distribution channels through which retailers can source graphic novels -- direct distribution and book wholesalers. Roger Fletcher of Diamond and Regina Kanicki of Baker & Taylor will represent the distribution alternatives, while three retailers that use both channels will share their experience and expertise on how to get the most out of each.

The panelists discussing graphic novel distribution are:

Greg Bennett -- Consulting Manager -- Big Planet Comics
Jim Crocker -- Manager -- Modern Myths
Ed Evans -- Owner -- All Things Fun
Roger Fletcher -- VP of Sales and Marketing -- Diamond Comic Distributors
Regina Kanicki -- Baker & Taylor

The graphic novel distribution panel will be at 1:30 p.m.
