In an Interview with SCI FI Wire Frank Miller indicated that he hopes to be in Texas shooting a sequel to Sin City with co-director Robert Rodriguez 'by late spring.'  Miller said the screenplay was 'largely done' and the co-directors now concentrating on casting the film and making minor adjustments to the script based on casting decisions.

The screenplay for Sin City 2 will be based on A Dame to Kill For, the second Sin City graphic novel and will also include a couple of 'Blue Eyes' stories, an 'Old Town Girls' story and a new story featuring Nancy Callahan.  Since the events in A Dame to Kill For preceded those in The Hard Goodbye (the basis for the first Sin City movie), characters who made up a portion of the sizable body count in the original Sin City movie may well appear in the sequel (which is actually a prequel).

The first Sin City film resulted in extremely strong sales for the entire line of all seven Sin City graphic novels.
