Late Night with David Letterman had some fun with New York Comic Con on Tuesday night with the 'New York Comic Con 2007 Quiz,' a multiple choice game with its own Paul Shaffer theme music.  Introducing NYCC as an event with 'the latest in comics, animation, and graphic novels,' the bit involved film clips from the show, with multiple choice questions associated with each (hint:  the third, or 'C' answer is always right). 

For example, over video of the costumed figure in the image illustrating this story, Letterman asked his viewers to complete the sentence, 'You may remember this creature from:

A.  Lord of the Rings

B.  Pan's Labyrinth

C.  Your local Taco Bell

Some of jokes were at the expense of fans.  A heavyset young man in a t-shirt is shown going through long boxes of comics.  The multiple choice is to complete the sentence beginning 'Just an hour  into the convention, this fan has gotten his hands on...'  The choices include Superman #1 and Cheeseburger #6. 

Another shows three costumed characters in form-fitting Spandex demonstrating, according to answer 'C,' that 'the Justice League doesn't have a Nautilus machine.'   

Although it's still a fraction of the attention that San Diego Comic-Con gets, New York Comic Con (no relation) is getting more national media attention in its second year, and has clearly emerged as the #2 show in the country in press and pop culture references as well as in attendance.
